Odd ramblings

I got into a medical kick this past week. My friend Amos is always giving me such a hard time for having great medical insurance but not using it. Well, this week I decided it was time to get my yearly girl check-up (riding the silver pony as Guru likes to call it) about a year late. It usually takes about 3 for 4 weeks to get into my doctor for that special time between, you, the doctor, the nurse, and the pony, but I got in three days later. Yippee! I get that out of the way and had them draw some blood to see if there was anything wrong internally. I've always know there was something wrong with me, but I just wanted to see if there was something wrong in my blood. So this lady takes my blood and I did not even feel it! I have had my blood taken so many times but this lady was good! She even took like three vials full and I never felt her change it out or even take the needle out. How awesome was that! I complimented her over and over about how good she was. I will request her every time I go in! Okay so back to my medical story. It is actually really boring now that I think about it. So I make a dentist appointment next. I go in on Thursday to have my teeth cleanned. We have great insurance that allows for one check and three cleanings a year for free and I have never gone in. In like three years! What the what!? I'm gonna get those pearly whites cleaned and then get some whitener. I think I've been drinking too much coffee and Coke.

We had a "pretend it is summer" day at the house today. Ella and I wore short sleeves and she wore shorts, we painted her fingernails, and when Gabe got home they got their swimsuits on and "swam" in the pool (Gabe's bed). They had towels out and Jordy (Ella's most favorite baby) along with a few other dollies sunbathing on towels and watching them "swim". I drew the line when they asked me for their goggles. The whole thing was so funny because it actually snowed 3.5" today.

I took the kids sledding yesterday after church and before the Super Bowl party. We went to Tuthill park, which is just a Sioux Falls sledding landmark. It is the place to go when the snow is on the ground and your boots are on your feet. I had never taken the kids there before and really hadn't taken them sledding at all because up to this point they had been a bit too little for it to be enjoyable. We had gone in the yard, but this is a serious hill. Oh they had so much fun! I want to take them again next Sunday.
