I didn't ever blog about this, but do you want to know how know how nice my husband is? He bought me a Canon Rebel for our 8th anniversary. He is so sweet. We went out for supper and had fun talking without the kids interrupting and then apologizing for interrupting only to interrupt again. You know the story.... We got home and he gave me a beautifully wrapped package with an even more beautiful gift inside! It was the new Rebel that just came out! YIPPEE! I love it so much. I think I have taken a ridiculous amount of pictures this past month. And they all come out great. It is so nice to actually capture the moment and lighting of a picture you are trying to take. The pics on this post are all from the Rebel. Now I'll have to start saving up for another lens. Ugh. Those bad boys are expensive...
I'm really not much of a movie person. I have this thing in my brain that if I watch a movie without doing anything else, then I am really wasting my time. BUT....I saw Mamma Mia and I love that movie. I think I want to marry it. It was that good. A group of about eight of us went a couple weeks ago with some college girls from our church and it was a blast watching and listening to it. The acting is SO good and it is just comical. One of those movies that really makes you feel like you are right there. I think the funniest part may have been the couple behind me though. I couldn't see them--since they were behind me--but she sang every single word of every single song in the movie. She was a serious ABBA fan. I mean serious. I could kind of see her in my periphereal vision and could see her hands flying all over the place. That in combination with her booming voice made for a very entertaining movie both on screen and off screen. Oh yeah, and the guy one row in front of me who slipped in last minute with his hot Harley wife. They were out on the town that night and smelled like they may have come in from the smokiest bar in town. It was bad. I watched the whole movie with my finger under my nose so I didn't have to smell it.
We have been having a great summer around here. I know I've talked about it before, but it has really been great. We have been spending the last week wrapping up our daytime activities. Swimming, playing at the park, bike riding, picnics, shopping (mommy's favorite), playing Bocce ball in the evening, etc. Oh yeah, and sleeping in. We spent today at the doctor getting more shots and then on to Target to get Legos for the boy getting shots. From the way he was screaming and screaming you would think that he got shot. Oh boy. I always take the kids to the park after getting shots because they can run around (he gets the shots in his legs) and get the legs going to they don't get too stiff. So those are my thoughts, I don't know if it really works or not.... Anyway, we grabbed some Subway and had a picnic in the shade and then over to this big Outdoor Campus at the kids talk me into going all over on a hike through these trails next to the river, on to a rock trail, and then a dirt trail. I think we probably went at least two miles or so. I don't ususally liek to exercise. I really hate it as a matter of fact. I just don't want to huff and puff and get sweaty and breathe heavy. Yuck. I wish I was addicted to it like some of those people that just couldn't stay out of the gym if they wanted to. It was really a fun day. I took a bunch of pics with my new camera.
And last was our trip to the fair. We go to a little small town fair outside of town that is so family friendly. They don't have alcohol sales, it is free to get in, and they have really surrounded it all around kids and elderly people. The food is all churches or farmers who sell homemade ice cream, and pork sandwiches with homemade potato salad etc. It is a great memory for us since there is so much to do. So I decided to take some pictures for everyone that made us laugh and wonder if we truly were in South Dakota, or if we were in the backwoods of Oklahoma again.

Here's Connie's parking spot. Right in the middle of the fair. Nobody knows who Connie is though. And maybe next year they could put her title on the parking spot rather than her first name. Although it is a small town (population 2000ish) and there may be only one Connie. Who knew?
Ella couldn't stand the smell of the pigs, cows, and sheep in the barn. She walked in one door plugging her nose and out the back door. She didn't even look at the animals.
And why not a pint sized ironing board for your home. Made by hand with door stops as feet. It could be yours for only $19.98. They were literally the size of two irons.
"PaperBacks 25 each Pay the rug Lady inside" Need I say more?
Creative Memories booth. I almost bought something for you Nobody, Amos, and Corrie. I knew it would probably go in the pile though so I refrained.
The camel that is there every year. And goes number 1 and number 2 in his water every year and drinks it.
Cockshutt? What is a Cockshutt?
And one pic before we leave.
So there you go. I really need to update more often so it isn't a book long.
